Understanding Addiction
May 29, 2020 @ 2:00PM — 4:00PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Join Board Advisor to the Recovery Community Laura Nowicki, and explore a broader perspective of addiction as a complex human process that is developed over time affecting both our relationship to ourselves and the world we live in.

While addiction is commonly thought of as alcohol and substance abuse there are many ways that it can manifest. With the recent drastic change in our daily way of life otherwise ordinary, "benign” and/or necessary life activities such as eating, shopping, working, relationships, media, even thought patterns, etc can become sources through which we seek pleasure and/or look to avoid pain.
With a compassionate approach we’ll explore these ideas and some grounding practices to help cultivate connection to the present moment. Through creating space within we can remember we have a choice and can become empowered in the way in which we engage with ourselves and our environment.
